What's your name and where do you come from:

I'm Ken Brown and I hail from the South of England, Ealing in Middlesex to be more precise.  I've been living in South Yorkshire since November 2001.

Qualifications and job history:

I started adult life as a Professional Singer working in and around London before moving to the North.  I did a music degree (BMus Hons) at the University of Surrey and had a vocal coach at the Royal College of Music.

I started working for the Department of Health in Durham as a short term contract and before I knew it I'd been in the NHS for 7 years working for NatPaCT as part of the NHS Modernisation Agency (2001 - 2005) and then NHS Connecting for Health (2005 - 2007).

I've been a Prince 2 Practitioner since 2005 and whilst I didn't enjoy the training it did highlight that I have a natural skill for Project Management which is one of the many skills that I bring to Kent House.  I've also got 5 years of event management experience having delivered over 200 events across the UK using Kent House's EventManager product.

I'm also a Registered Reflexologist and work for Sheffield Health and Social Care Foundation Trust one day a week.  I'm the only salaried NHS Reflexologist in the country working as part of the Integrated Medicine Service for the Trust.
 

How long have you been with Kent House:

I've worked with Kent House as an NHS client since about the middle of 2002.  I crossed to the 'dark side' in April 2007 firstly as a contractor before becoming an established piece of the Kent House furniture in October 2007.

What is your role within Kent House:

My thoughts are that I have different roles depending on who you ask in the team.  I think the development team think I'm the one that creates work for them and that Kevin knows I'm the one that will pick up the pieces.  My preferred view is that I'm the person that links everything together working with both clients and the development team to ensure that everyone gets what they need out of projects.  I'm one of the public faces of Kent House going out to meet clients and deliver training etc.

Likes / dislikes:

Dislikes: Mushrooms, I'm allergic to them and prefer not to visit A&E too often!!

Likes: Classical Music , Nintendo Wii, Dog walking and Gardening as part of a much bigger list....
