Q. Is there a limit to the number of events that I can run?
A. EventManager is normally licensed on an annual contract basis with no limitations to the number of events or bookings that can be taken by your installation of the application. Occassionally a client will only wish to purchase the use of EventManager for a small number of events in which these details will be laid out in the contract and made clear at point of sale.
Q. I'm not a 'techie' will I still be able to use the system?
A. EventManager has been designed for event managers by event managers. The system has a huge amount of functionality but has been designed to be simple and logical to use. You'll be able to get a good feel for the system just by giving it a go yourself but included as part of the purchase is a 3 hour training session with a member of the Kent House training team. This one off session is normally sufficient to cover all aspects of the system and will give you a step-by-step understanding of the functions of the system from someone that has used it to deliver events. There are web based training materials that you can access at any point after training.
Q. We work with a few organisations. Can I run events on their behalf using the system?
A. Clients are not entitled – unless otherwise agreed in advance with Kent House - to use EventManager to promote or manage events of any third party, whether public sector or commercial.
Q. How will EventManager save me time?
A. There are a number of time saving aspects to EventManager. As delegates can self-manage their profile (including diet and special needs) and bookings, you're left free to get on with the real job of an event manager. Gone are the days of excel spreadsheets, access databases and not knowing who has had a confirmation email and who hasn't. In just a few minutes a delegate can create their own account and make a booking for one of your events. Equally with a quick create wizard and event cloning you can have events ready for booking in minutes. With one central events list your delegates can come and find events quickly, simply and easily with minimal processing time needed from you.
Q. Are the details of my delegates secure?
A. We design and build websites with great attention to security. We ensure that the server operating system, email server software, web server software, scripting language, newsletter management application, content management system, and in-house developed code are all kept up to date and that all third-party security fixes are installed as soon as they are made available.
Remote access to the site will be protected through a VPN, hardware firewall, and solid security practices and will be limited to Kent House’s own developers.
Q. I'm worried about losing my event data. What reassurances can you give me?
A. We guarantee that your application will be functioning and connected to the Internet for at least 99.9% of the time during standard European business hours (0800 – 1800 Mon-Fri, 0800 – 1300 Sat) measured over any 12 month period. Back-ups of event databases are taken every night and the system has been running for over 7 years with only a short period of a few hours of unscheduled server down time in that whole period.
